Adventure after school— Every Wednesday & Winter Tuesdays

The Gravity Diversity Project partners with local schools and outdoor orgs to turn early-release Wednesdays and Winter Tuesdays into safe, exciting opportunities. Winter Tuesdays focus on skiing & riding at Cranor Ski Area.

Serving Gunnison–Crested Butte, Colorado. Scholarships and gear assistance available.

Our mission

We reduce barriers so Gunnison Valley kids can access the outdoors and the arts—consistently, safely, and affordably. Early-release Wednesdays are a challenge for families; GDP turns them into opportunity.

How Wednesdays work

Step 1: School Bus Pickup

Kids get picked up by a school bus at 1:40 PM.

Step 2: Bus to Activity

Kids take a bus to their activity; attendance is tracked.

Step 3: Active Program

90–150 minutes of supervised activity (skill + fun + safety).

Step 4: Wrap & Pickup

Parents/guardians pick up at the posted time/place.

Step 5: Equity Support

Scholarships, loaner gear, bilingual comms, and transportation help when possible.

Step 6: Consistency

Happens every Wednesday during the school year (weather and partner permitting).

How Tuesdays work

Step 1: Public Bus to CBMR

Kids take the public bus to Crested Butte Mountain Resort.

Step 2: Rentals & Lessons

Kids get set up with rentals and group lessons.

Step 3: Learn to Ski

Progression-focused sessions with qualified instructors.

Step 4: Ride Back to Gunnison

A well-earned (and tired!) bus ride back to Gunnison.

Step 5: Parent Pickup

Parents pick up happy kids.
