We reduce barriers so Gunnison Valley kids can access the outdoors and the arts—consistently, safely, and affordably. Early-release Wednesdays are a challenge for families; GDP turns them into opportunity.
Seasonal and age-appropriate offerings led by vetted partner organizations.
Get kids on snow—passes, rentals, clothing, coaching.
Skills, trail etiquette, and safe progression.
Intro clinics and course access.
Learn local waters, stewardship, and basic casting.
CB Nordic + trail partners for year-round movement.
Hands-on stewardship and trail days.
Intro to horsemanship and safe riding basics.
Trip planning, Leave No Trace, and overnights.
Navigation, shelter, fire safety, and readiness.
Creative sessions in partnership with local artists.

Kids get picked up by a school bus at 1:40 PM.
Kids take a bus to their activity; attendance is tracked.
90–150 minutes of supervised activity (skill + fun + safety).
Parents/guardians pick up at the posted time/place.
Scholarships, loaner gear, bilingual comms, and transportation help when possible.
Happens every Wednesday during the school year (weather and partner permitting).
Kids take the public bus to Crested Butte Mountain Resort.
Kids get set up with rentals and group lessons.
Progression-focused sessions with qualified instructors.
A well-earned (and tired!) bus ride back to Gunnison.
Parents pick up happy kids.
Coach a session, help with logistics, or provide bilingual support. Background checks for direct youth work.
